This policy explains how Catalyst Living Company, LLC, doing business as The Gran Life ("The Gran Life," "we," "us") handles personal information collected through thegranlife.com and the services we offer through it.
The short version: we collect your name and email when you ask us to send you something, your phone number only if you specifically opt in to texts, and basic technical information about your visit. We use it to send you what you asked for. We do not sell it. You can leave at any time.
1. Who we are
The Gran Life is a media brand and coaching practice for grandparents, founded by Alison Richardson, MS.

2. What we collect

Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider and any analytics we run record standard technical information: your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the pages you view, and the page or search that sent you here.
We do not currently run analytics on this site, and we do not run advertising pixels. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads tag, and no cross-site retargeting. If that changes, we will update this policy before the change goes live, not after.
3. How we use it
- To send you the specific thing you asked for: the quiz result, the group link, the newsletter, waitlist news.
- To answer your message when you contact us.
- To tailor what we send. If the quiz says you are at one stage, we try not to send you material for a different one.
- To understand which pages and topics are useful, in aggregate.
- To meet legal obligations, including keeping records of your consent to receive email and text messages.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Email and text messages
We send email only to people who asked for it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly. We may still send you transactional messages, such as a receipt or a reply to something you sent us.
Text messages
We send text messages only to people who gave a mobile number and separately ticked a consent box. Those boxes are never pre-checked, and consent is never a condition of taking the quiz, joining a waitlist, or buying anything.
On the quiz form there are two separate optional checkboxes, independent of each other. You may tick either, both, or neither:
- Informational messages. Your grandchild’s developmental milestones and activity ideas. These are The Milestone Message and The Gran Date.
- Marketing messages. New offerings, community invitations and updates.
Ticking one does not opt you into the other. If you tick neither, we do not text you at all.
When you consent, we record the date and time, the IP address, and the exact consent wording you were shown. We keep that record so we can demonstrate consent if it is ever questioned.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, and those charges come from your mobile carrier, not from us.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Our messaging provider processes messages on our behalf and nothing more.

5. Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. This site uses only the ones required to make it work. We do not use analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it.
We share it only with service providers who need it to do a job for us, and only for that job:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights or someone's safety. If The Gran Life is ever sold or merged, contact records may transfer as part of that business, and we will say so here before it takes effect.
7. Affiliate links
Some links in the gift guide are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. The retailer, not us, handles that transaction and collects whatever information their own policy describes. We do not receive your payment details.
Recommendations are based on what fits a child developmentally. A commission never determines whether something is recommended.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
When you follow an Amazon link from this site, Amazon may set a cookie to attribute the purchase to us. We never see what you bought or what you paid. Amazon's own privacy notice covers everything that happens after you click.
8. Children
This site publishes information about children for an audience of adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to hello@thegranlife.com and we will delete it.
Please do not send us photographs of, or identifying details about, your grandchildren. We do not need them, and we would rather not hold them.
9. Your choices and your rights
Whatever state you live in, you can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Ask for a copy in a portable format.
- Unsubscribe from email, or reply STOP to text messages.
To make a request, email hello@thegranlife.com. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to verify who you are first, usually by confirming you control the email address on file.
We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
Many states now have comprehensive privacy laws, most of which apply only to businesses above a size threshold that The Gran Life is well below. We extend the rights above to everyone regardless, because drawing lines by state seemed worse than just honoring the requests.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes we will add a clear opt-out link and honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal.
This site is intended for visitors in the United States. We do not market to people in the European Union or the United Kingdom.
10. How long we keep it

11. Security
We use reputable providers, we limit who can see contact records, and we use secure connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
12. Other sites
The Gran Life Community lives on Facebook, and the gift guide links to retailers. Once you leave this site, you are covered by their privacy policies rather than ours. Facebook in particular collects a great deal, and joining a group there is governed entirely by Meta's terms. Worth reading if you have not.
13. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so by email to anyone on our list rather than expecting you to notice.
