The Gran Life Community

Grandparents figuring this out together

A private Facebook group for grandparents who want more than sentiment. Questions get real answers, and nobody has to pretend it is all easy.

The Gran Life Community: from loving them to being legendary to them. A community for the modern grandmother.

The Gran Life Community

Private group on Facebook · Requests approved personally

Because the group is private, Facebook will ask you to request to join. Leave your email here and the link comes straight to your inbox, so you have it even if you want to join later.

Inside the group

What it is actually like in there

Real questions

What do I do when they will not let me babysit. How do I stay close from four states away. The things people do not post on their main feed.

Answers with something behind them

Alison is in the group, and the developmental questions get answered from what is actually known, not from folklore.

No performing

Nobody has to pretend their family is easy. That is the whole point of making it private.

Questions about the group

Do I need a Facebook account to join?

Yes. The community lives on Facebook, so joining requires an account there. If you would rather not be on Facebook, The Gran Life Letter covers much of the same ground by email.

Will my posts be visible to my Facebook friends?

No. It is a private group, so what you post inside is visible only to other members, not on your timeline and not to people who are not in the group.

How long does approval take?

Requests are reviewed personally, usually the same day. There are a few short questions on the way in, and answering them helps Alison know who is walking in the door.

Does it cost anything?

No. The community is free.
