New from The Gran Life

The 15th of every month just became your day.

The Gran Date sends one text on the 15th of each month with two ways to connect with your grandchild. One completely free, one worth the ticket, matched to exactly where they are, from birth through age 25.

Connection does not happen by accident. It happens by appointment.

Every grandparent intends to call more, visit more, do more. Then the month evaporates. The Gran Date solves the real problem, which is not love, because you have that in abundance. It is prompting: a specific, developmentally matched idea, delivered on a reliable day, that turns we should get together into something on the calendar.

And because connecting with a six-month-old, a sixth-grader, and a twenty-four-year-old are three entirely different skills, every Gran Date is matched to your grandchild's age, meeting them exactly where they are.

One text, two ideas

Every month, for twenty-five years

Always

One free idea

Blanket forts, recipe swaps, photo-album nights, walks with a mission. Connection that costs nothing but attention.

Always

One worth the ticket

The aquarium, the matinee, the milkshake, the concert. For the months you want to make a memory with a ticket stub.

What a Gran Date looks like

Month 7

The Gran Life: Gran Date! Peekaboo just became the greatest game ever invented, because object permanence is brand new. Free: a peekaboo marathon with a dish towel. Treat: a soft photo book of family faces, because she is learning yours.

Month 132, age 11

The Gran Life: Gran Date! Eleven-year-olds open up shoulder to shoulder, not face to face. Free: a walk with a mission, photograph ten cool things. Treat: an escape room, just you two. Teamwork beats interrogation every time.

Month 264, age 22

The Gran Life: Gran Date! Twenty-two and building a life. Be a standing date in it. Free: a monthly call where you each bring one story the other has not heard. Treat: take them to lunch near their work and meet their world.

The most powerful thing you can do for your grandchildren is refuse to disappear.

Alison Richardson, MS, Founder, The Gran Life

A note on the approach. Every activity is matched to developmental stage: what a child of that age can do, wants to do, and connects through. It draws on CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics guidance and is designed by a founder with a master's degree in Human Development. Activities are the same for boys and girls for nearly the entire track. Only during the puberty years, roughly ages 8 to 14, when girls and boys genuinely mature on different timelines, do messages adjust, and always to the developmental stage rather than to a stereotype. Nothing here is medical advice.

Claim your 15th

One text a month. Twenty-five years of showing up by design.

One thing worth knowing: we are completing carrier registration for text messaging right now. Sign up today and you are on the list; your first text arrives as soon as that clears, and we will email you the moment it does.

Makes your texts personal.

Month and year is all we need. We do not ask for a child's full date of birth.

Only used for ages 8 to 14, when development genuinely diverges.

Questions

Does it cost anything?

No. The Gran Date is free. Your mobile carrier's standard message and data rates may apply, and those come from your carrier rather than from us.

How often will I get a text?

Once a month, on or around the 15th. That is the whole service. No promotional messages in between.

When will my first text arrive?

We are completing carrier registration for text messaging, which every business has to do before it can send. Sign up now and you are on the list. Your first Gran Date arrives on the 15th following that approval, and we will email you when it is confirmed.

What if the ideas do not fit my situation?

Every Gran Date carries two options, one free and one worth the ticket, so distance, budget, and energy all have a version. Long-distance grandparents use the free idea most, and it is usually the one a grandchild remembers anyway.

Does it really run to age 25?

Yes. The milestones end around eighteen but the relationship does not, and connecting with a twenty-two-year-old is a genuinely different skill from connecting with a toddler. The ideas keep pace.

How do I stop the texts?

Reply STOP to any message. It takes effect immediately and permanently. Reply HELP for help.

What is the difference between this and The Milestone Message?

The Milestone Message tells you what your grandchild is developmentally working on. The Gran Date gives you something to actually do about it. They pair well and many grandparents take both.
